168 Hours: You Actually Do Have the Time
Carl Sandburg said it better than I ever could, but – to be fair – he was a celebrated poet and three-time Pulitzer Prize winner: “Time is the coin of your life. It is the only coin you have, and only you can determine how it will be spent. Be careful lest you let other people spend it for you.” If there’s one sentiment the modern American can understand, it’s that of your time being spent for you instead of being spent by you. “I don’t have time,” is a phrase we utter so often that it almost becomes an automatic response, a shrug against the endless pressures of modern life. But here’s the thing: that’s almost universally untrue. There are 168 hours in every week – so why are we rushing and still behind on everything? There’s plenty of time. We just need to use it smarter. This is the central insight of Laura Vanderkam’s 168

The Power of Core Focus
The Power of Core Focus Author: Meg Thoreson Every quarter, I ask leadership teams a simple question: “Did you make a strategic decision in the last 90 days by filtering it through your Core Focus?” When the answer is a confident yes, the room lights up. Leaders lean in, voices overlap, and pride radiates from the team. They know they’ve been disciplined enough to stay true to their company’s sweet spot. But more often than not, I hear silence. Focus is hard. It’s a discipline. And in today’s world—overflowing with distractions and shiny opportunities—it’s easy to drift. So, what exactly is your Core Focus, and why does it matter so much? What Is Core Focus? The EOS Vision/Traction Organizer (V/TO) asks eight questions that clarify a business’s vision and execution. One of those questions is: “What is your Core Focus?” Core Focus is the intersection of two elements: Your purpose/cause/passion (why your organization

I’ve got it from here
I started my Chicken Mama journey over five years ago. It all started with a desire to have farm-fresh eggs, especially after seeing my friends navigate being chicken mamas with such ease. I had help from a number of people, including my chicken coach and the chicken whisperer. My chicken coach gave me my first couple of flocks of chickens, taught me how to catch a chicken and helped me learn how to deal with an unruly rooster. I’m so grateful for her support and encouragement as I grew from a city girl into a confident chicken mama. The chicken whisperer, also my neighbor, knows all things chickens. I remember calling her when I discovered one of my cockerels was walking like a penguin. She promptly came over, diagnosed the situation, and provided some recommendations on how to nurse this cockerel to health. Mastery of a worthwhile pursuit is a

3-Year Picture: See It Before You Build It
In the military, you don’t just step off without knowing where you’re headed. You visualize the terrain, plan the checkpoints, and make sure the whole unit sees the same map. Business is no different. That’s why EOS gives you the 3-Year Picture. What It Is Your 3-Year Picture takes your long-range Core Target and brings it closer to reality. It’s not a fantasy. We’re talking: It’s vivid. It’s concrete. It’s motivating. Why It Matters Veteran entrepreneurs are wired to execute. But execution without vision leads to grinding, not growth. The 3-Year Picture gives your team a shared vision of the future, something they can rally behind. When everyone sees the same picture, alignment skyrockets. You start making decisions today
