The 5 Abilities You Need as a Leader to Grow

Have you ever felt stuck in your business? Like there is something stopping you from growing past a certain point? This doesn’t just mean growing your revenue or people, it might be that you’re stuck internally, with things not working how you want them to. All businesses go through these types of growing pains where they hit the ceiling, whether it is individually as a leader, within a single department, or as a business as a whole. This barrier stops you from reaching that next level you’ve been trying to get to and can lead to feelings of being overwhelmed and frustrated. In the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS), I have found that whether or not a business is able to break through that ceiling that is stopping them from growing, is directly related to the ability to master what we call, The Five Leadership Abilities. The Five Leadership Abilities The

Why Leaders Have a Hard Time Letting Go

When you first started your business, you were probably a one-man show. You had the capacity to not only be the business owner and do what you love but to also do everything else your business needed—from marketing and sales to operations and human resources. However, over time as your business grew and started demanding more, you’ve probably noticed that what was once easily manageable has turned into a never-ending to-do list that has not only halted your business’s growth but has also disrupted your work-life balance and led to you feeling more and more burnt out. And, even after bringing more people into your business to help, you still feel overwhelmed and like you should be accomplishing a heck of a lot more than you are. For most small business owners and entrepreneurs, this struggle is all too familiar. The issue stems from the fact that many leaders struggle

The ROI of EOS

When I’m meeting with business owners and leaders who are thinking about implementing the Entrepreneurial Operating System into their business, one of the first things they want to know is what will they get out of it and will it be worth it. They know they need some outside business coaching or consulting to get to the next level, but aren’t sure what they need.  One of the best parts about EOS is that it touches on all aspects of a business – from the vision, mission, marketing strategy, people, processes, measurables, and accountability – all focused on helping you achieve that vision. You May Ask, What Will You Get from Implementing EOS Into Your Business? In my experience, this is what I have seen EOS help other businesses, and my own clients, achieve: Growth & Stability: My clients grew 30% on average last year, during a pandemic when most

The Difference Between an EOS Implementer and Business Coach

“So, you’re a business coach?” Ever since I became an EOS Implementer, I get this question all the time. The answer? Not exactly, but kind of! Most people have a tendency to lump coaches, consultants, and EOS Implementers all into the same category. And it’s true that we do all work to help businesses grow! But why do I call myself an EOS Implementer and not a business coach or consultant? It’s because as an EOS Implementer, I use the Entrepreneurial Operating System’s holistic system, practical tools, and timeless concepts to help you get MORE from your business. My Personal Experience Personally, I started off as a business consultant. Then I quickly realized that I did not GWC (Get it, Want it, Capacity to do it) this role. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t stop teaching people the tools so that they were empowered to grow and break

How to Build a Stronger Company Culture

It’s no lie that at the root of what makes an organization a great place to work is a strong organizational culture. Many organizations pride themselves in claiming to be a great place to work, but behind the pool table in the break room and free lunches on Fridays, their culture is severely lacking, or even toxic. This leads to a constantly revolving door of employees, making it hard to ever truly grow. If you want to know the truth—great employees don’t stay at a company for the money or the cool perks, they stay for its culture. Now, more than ever, there is a lot of conversation surrounding culture. What is it? How do we create a good one? Building a healthy and strong culture doesn’t just happen overnight, and it comes with a lot of growing pains along the way. The Entrepreneurial Operating System can help you on

Getting More From Your Business With Less

Prior to the COVID pandemic, I had been working with the leadership team of a mid-sized tech company that was doing $20 million per year with 50 employees. The integrator made some unexpected and positive discoveries during COVID that made the company leaner, stronger, and more profitable. Making Smart Moves During COVID When COVID hit, they were forced to work remotely. The leader of the project management department made the decision to bring all of his people together for their weekly Level 10 Meeting™ in order to offset the isolation of being remote. Previously, he had two levels in his department with a layer of bosses that were primarily regionally focused. At the time, it was intended to be a temporary move, but he realized that there was no longer a lot of value in that extra layer of management. That’s because everyone was joining one call and operating as one team.
