About Me

The worst day of my entrepreneurial journey started with a phone call on a Saturday morning.

A customer called to tell me one of my employees had stolen microwaves and VCRs from their property.

In my company van.

Then hit another car while fleeing.

As the owner, I was horrified, embarrassed and angry.

But that day taught me a lesson I’ve carried with me for more than 30 years:

You don’t really know what kind of leader you are when things are going well.
You find out when things go sideways.

You take responsibility.
You have the hard conversations.
You solve the problem.
And then you ask, What do I need to change so this doesn’t happen again?

Those experiences shaped the way I lead — and the way I work with leadership teams today.

Running a business will give you some incredible days.

And a few you’ll never forget.

Both make you a better leader.
