I know what it’s like to build a business from scratch.
I also know what it’s like to build a business that becomes too dependent on you.
I started Citrus Internet in 1998 and owned and operated it for 18 years. Like a lot of entrepreneurs, I was good at solving problems, making things happen and keeping the wheels turning.
And that became part of the problem.
Too much of the business lived in my head. Too many decisions came back to me. The team relied heavily on me and, without really intending to, I’d built a business where I had become one of its biggest dependencies.
When I eventually tried to sell it, that owner dependence became painfully obvious.
It was a lesson I never forgot.
Years later, when I discovered EOS®, I recognised immediately what had been missing.
Vision. Traction. Healthy.
A simple, practical operating system that could have helped me get everyone aligned around where we were going, create genuine accountability throughout the organisation, build a stronger leadership team and make the business less dependent on me.
That’s why I became an EOS Implementer®.
I’ve lived the problem EOS solves.
I’ve been in the Owner’s Seat
I’ve spent most of my working life as an entrepreneur and business owner.
I’ve started businesses, employed people, made hiring mistakes, dealt with cash-flow pressure, managed difficult conversations, chased growth, taken risks and experienced the frustration of knowing a business could be performing better but not always knowing how to unlock it.
I’m still a business owner today.
So when I’m sitting around the table with a leadership team, I understand that this isn’t an academic exercise.
It’s your business.
Your money.
Your people.
And very often, a huge part of your life.
My job isn’t to come in and tell you how to run it.
My job is to teach your leadership team the EOS Tools™, facilitate the EOS Process® and coach you to become a stronger, healthier and more accountable leadership team.
And sometimes that means asking the question nobody else around the table is prepared to ask.
I work particularly well with entrepreneurial, privately owned businesses where the founder or owner is still actively involved.
Typically, they have around 10–200 people and they’ve reached a point where sheer entrepreneurial energy isn’t enough anymore.
The business may be growing, but so is the complexity.
You might recognise some of this:
That’s exactly the territory where EOS can be incredibly powerful.
One of the things I’m most passionate about is helping owners stop being the answer to every question.
Because I’ve lived that.
The objective isn’t to make the owner less important.
It’s to build an organisation where the right people have genuine ownership of their roles, the leadership team is aligned, everyone understands the vision and there is a clear rhythm of accountability and execution throughout the business.
That’s when things start to change.
Less firefighting.
Fewer unresolved issues.
Better meetings.
Clearer accountability.
Better execution.
A healthier leadership team.
And ultimately, a business that gives its owners more freedom rather than continually demanding more from them.
My Style
I’m practical, direct and energetic.
I don’t believe leadership teams need more corporate jargon, complicated frameworks or 80-page strategy documents.
They need clarity.
They need to be able to have open and honest conversations.
They need to identify the real issues rather than continually dealing with symptoms.
And they need the discipline to execute.
I’ll challenge you when that’s what the business needs.
I’ll call out the elephant in the room.
I’ll keep the conversation moving when we’re disappearing down a rabbit hole.
I’ll also make sure there’s some humour in the room. Building a great business is serious work, but that doesn’t mean every session has to feel serious.
Most importantly, I’m not there to create dependence on me.
I’m there to help your leadership team become better at running your business.
EOS isn’t theory.
It’s a complete, proven operating system built specifically for entrepreneurial businesses.
It helps leadership teams get stronger in the Six Key Components™ of their business and achieve three things:
Vision
Getting everyone on the same page about where you’re going and exactly how you plan to get there.
Traction®
Bringing discipline and accountability into the organisation so the things you agree to actually get done.
Healthy
Helping your leadership team become cohesive, functional and capable of having the open and honest conversations required to build a great company.
Simple doesn’t mean easy.
But when a leadership team genuinely embraces EOS, running the business can become dramatically clearer.
I want to help you build a better business.
One with a leadership team you trust.
One where everyone understands where you’re going.
One where accountability is clear.
One where issues get solved rather than repeatedly discussed.
One where you can step away without wondering whether everything will fall apart.
And ultimately, one that gives you more of what you wanted when you became an entrepreneur in the first place.
Freedom.
Freedom to grow.
Freedom to think.
Freedom to pursue other opportunities.
And sometimes simply the freedom to enjoy the business you’ve worked so hard to build.
If you’re an owner, founder or leadership team running a successful business and you’re thinking:
“We’re doing well, but surely it shouldn’t be this hard.”
I’d love to meet you.
We’ll spend some time talking about your business, your leadership team and the issues you’re facing.
I’ll explain EOS and answer your questions.
Then we’ll decide whether it makes sense to take the next step.
No obligation. No complicated sales process.
Just a conversation.
