Martin ‘served his apprenticeship’ in a small, entrepreneurial, family-owned travel business — an experience that inspired him and a business partner to launch their own venture. Within a year they were turning over more than £1m and making a healthy profit. But Martin’s innate curiosity and desire to explore new challenges soon pulled him in a different direction.
He went on to spend the next 20 years in senior leadership roles across several highly successful, profitable and award-winning international companies. That journey came to a dramatic halt when one of those organisations nearly went bust. “I discovered far more about myself during those dark days than I ever did in the good times,” he recalls. It was then he realised he’d grown tired of the politics, lack of accountability and unnecessary complexity that often come with big-company life.
In 2010 he returned to his entrepreneurial roots and began working with SMEs. In 2017 he discovered EOS and self-implemented its practical tools and disciplines into the business he was leading. The company doubled to £10m+ turnover within two years and was ultimately sold to private equity.
Today, clients value Martin’s genuine, no-nonsense and passionate approach to implementation.
