Mark Stagen is an EOS Implementer based in Los Angeles, California, specializing in implementing EOS with founder-run and YPO-led companies, as well as PE-backed firms and family run businesses in the $5M–$250M revenue range across Southern California and the greater Los Angeles area.
Mark brings one critical credential that very few EOS Implementers can claim: he has been in the seat himself and successfully founded and exited two companies. He built Emerald Health Services into one of the largest healthcare staffing firms in the country before selling it to a private equity firm. Prior to Emerald, he co-founded Telecore, a broadband engineering firm he sold and guided through its subsequent IPO. His companies have generated over $1 billion in combined revenue. When he sits across from a founder/CEO struggling with scaling, accountability, or team alignment, he has lived those exact problems — not read about them.
Mark has been an active YPO (Young Presidents’ Organization) member and chapter and international leader since 2005 — over two decades inside the organization. He is one of the very few EOS Implementers in Los Angeles who is not just familiar with YPO, but an active member and leader within it. He understands the peer accountability culture, the performance expectations, and the specific growth pressures that come with running a YPO-caliber company. For a YPO member evaluating EOS Implementers, that difference is felt immediately – in how sessions are run, how hard conversations are handled, and what’s expected of the leadership team.
PE-backed companies benefit particularly from EOS’s built-in accountability structures. Rocks, Scorecards, and Level 10 Meetings give investors and boards the visibility they need while freeing the operating team to execute on growing enterprise value. Mark has direct experience on both sides of the private equity ecosystem. He sold his last company to a private equity firm and now helps many PE-backed portfolio companies implement EOS to hit their growth and exit targets.
Mark’s clients are typically leaders who know their company is capable of more but feel stuck between the day-to-day and the bigger vision — founders who’ve outgrown their instincts, family businesses navigating a generational transition, PE-backed teams under the clock, and YPO members who want more from their companies.
Mark is also deeply rooted in the Los Angeles community. He founded the Youth Business Alliance, a nonprofit organization that teaches Los Angeles-area high school students about business, careers, and entrepreneurship.
Mark received his BA from Yale University in three years while playing football for Yale. He attended the Harvard President Management Program, and taught entrepreneurship at the USC Marshall School of Business as an Adjunct Professor. He is also an EY Entrepreneur of the Year winner and serves as an EY Entrepreneur of the Year judge.
