This is such an important topic because nearly every business has been touched by the COVID pandemic in one way or another. Decreases in sales, changes in the supply chain, staffing concerns, pivoting to take the business online and managing a virtual workforce are just some of the ways businesses are impacted. Will you go back to the way it was or embrace a “New Normal” for your business?
Many businesses are in the throes of figuring out what getting back to work and the “New Normal” will look like. We are all adjusting. As we do adjust, I encourage you to think about what changes can you make in running your business to set you up for future growth. You often hear that it takes 21 days to start a new habit. Don’t Make This Mistake
Someone asked me recently “what’s one mistake you see business owners making all the time, and how can we avoid it?” It wasn’t hard to come up with an answer because I’m guilty of doing this myself. The mistake? Trying to do EVERYTHING yourself. It’s hard to let go. It’s hard to believe someone else will do things as well as you would. It’s so easy to fall into this trap, but it will derail your success. How to avoid this mistake? The truth is, other people will never do it the same as you would. However, it doesn’t make their way wrong. It just makes it different. Clearly describe your goal, help them see the intended outcome and purpose, and allow for creativity beyond that.
