Sometimes You Just Need a Boot

Sometimes You Just Need a Boot – For the business owners who have tried everything except getting the help they need.

I have an Achilles injury.

Actually, I’ve had an Achilles injury for years.

The first time it flared up, I struggled with the pain and limitations for months. But I did what many of us tend to do: I just kept going, pushing through the pain.

Eventually, I went to an orthopedic doctor who explained that if I continued trying to heal it myself, I was likely going to make it worse, potentially injuring it further. I certainly wasn’t going to make it better.

So, naturally, when he told me I needed a boot, I immediately got in it.

Just kidding.

I kept trying to muscle my way through. Until I heard the words, “You could rupture your Achilles.”

That got my attention.

A ruptured Achilles would mean surgery, a long recovery, and a much bigger problem than the one I was already dealing with.

So, I gave up trying to do it myself and put on the boot.
And you know what? It got better. Fast.

The boot gave my Achilles the structure and support it needed to actually heal.

We Do the Same Thing in Business
As business owners, we’re remarkably good at this. We put our heads down and muscle through.

We solve the problem ourselves. We work longer hours. We try one more strategy. We read another book. We try to figure it out with our new friend, ChatGPT.

We tell ourselves, “I’ve got this.” And often we do.

But sometimes, the thing keeping us from getting stronger isn’t a lack of effort. It’s simply a lack of support and direction from someone who knows how to help us move forward.

And that can be a hard truth for us business owners to swallow because most of us don’t particularly enjoy admitting we need help.

We’re entrepreneurs, after all! We’re independent. We’re risk-takers. We’re used to figuring things out. Many of us built our businesses precisely because we wanted to call our own shots.

But there’s a difference between being independent and being alone. And many of us are struggling because we are trying to do it alone.

Sometimes the smartest thing you can do is get into the boot.

That’s Where EOS Comes In

In my world, that boot is EOS® and a coach that can help you see the areas that need changing, strengthening, and stabilization.

The Entrepreneurial Operating System® gives leadership teams a practical system and a set of tools to organize the chaos, get everyone on the same page, and take back control of a business that may have started running them instead of the other way around.

As an EOS Implementer, I help leadership teams use those tools to get traction much faster than they would trying to figure it all out on their own.

EOS provides the structure. It gives your business a way to heal, strengthen, and move forward. Time and time again I’ve seen business owners and leadership teams set free to take their business where they want it to go, all while living something that we call The EOS Life…

  • Doing what you love
  • With people you love
  • Making a huge difference
  • Getting compensated appropriately
  • With time for other passions

It’s why I love the work that I do!

Just about every day I get to help teams learn the simple and practical tools that make up EOS, giving them the support they need to flourish. It’s an amazing experience!

If you need help, reach out. I’d love to talk!
