I’m an Expert EOS Implementer, and before that I was the entrepreneur on the other side of the table for 35 years.

I built Lobster Gram out of my two-car garage with $1,000 and a hunch that people would buy live lobsters through the mail. Thirty years later I sold it as a $15 million company. Along the way we had a website in 1996 and became one of the first companies advertising on Google AdWords — which mostly tells you I’ve always been willing to try the thing nobody had tried yet.

Those thirty years gave me the good, the bad, and the ugly of actually owning a business. The payroll weeks that keep you up. The hire you should have made sooner. The stretch where everything runs through you and you can’t see a way out. I know what that feels like, because I lived it.

That’s why I do this now. I’ve run more than 700 EOS sessions with leadership teams, and my job in the room is simple: help you get everyone on the same page, get the right people in the right seats, and build the discipline to solve issues instead of admiring them. I’ll ask the uncomfortable questions. I’ll also make sure we laugh while we do the hard work, because in my experience the hard work doesn’t stick otherwise.

I’m a co-founder of The 4Mores, an EOS Implementer Firm based in Wilmette, Illinois, where I work alongside Chris Beer. The name comes from what I’ve watched entrepreneurial companies get when this works: more structure, more alignment, more profit, and more fun.
