Many successful businesses eventually reach a point where working harder no longer solves the problem. The owner is carrying too much. Accountability is unclear. Important issues keep resurfacing, and the leadership team isn’t always aligned on where the company is going or who is responsible for getting it there. In a family business, those challenges can become even more complicated.
I understand that experience firsthand.
For 25 years, I helped lead Intermountain Auto Recycling, the small wrecking yard founded by my father. As CEO, I worked alongside six of my brothers to transform it into a nationally recognized automotive recycling company. We also launched several other ventures, navigated family-business succession, and learned valuable lessons from both our successes and our mistakes.
We built a good business—but eventually, we hit a ceiling. Too much depended on a few owners, including me, and we needed greater clarity, accountability, and alignment. That’s when we brought in a Professional EOS Implementer®.
Over the next 18 months, EOS changed how we operated. We grew the business by more than 50% while significantly reducing my day-to-day responsibilities and removing another owner from daily operations. The company became stronger, the leadership team became more accountable, and the business no longer depended on us in the same way.
That transformation is why I became a Professional EOS Implementer. Today, I help owners and leadership teams—especially those in family-owned and blue-collar businesses—clarify their vision, strengthen accountability, solve recurring issues, and build a healthier business that doesn’t rely on the owner to hold everything together.

Outside of work, my wife and I have six children. We love sports, traveling, and being active together. Having the freedom to be present for those moments has been one of the greatest blessings of our EOS journey.
