When my wife and I started our own business, a 24 hour donut shop, we did it for the freedom to control our careers, schedules, finances, and to positively impact our employees and community. Three years in, freedom and control were rare occurrences. We were both working 70+ hour weeks with high employee turnover, excessive inconsistencies, and unable to increase profits. We were growing, but the business was running us into the ground. We began implementing EOS in year four and within a few years were named one of the “Top 10 Donut Shops to Visit in the Country” by Travel Magazine.
Because of EOS, the business is now running without us and I have the ability to pursue another passion. Having been through the ups and downs and endless hours, I find a lot of purpose sharing EOS with other business owners to make all the sacrifices worthwhile.
