I grew up with an entrepreneur and educator mindset. My dad and grandfather started their own small businesses; the rest of my family were all teachers. I spent 27 years in sales for companies of all sizes. At the same time, I always had a side-hustle. Unfortunately, I crashed and burned and went bankrupt — that is still one of my biggest life lessons. I realized then that my passion was around entrepreneurship, but I wanted to ensure I could build a business the right way and not fail again.
So, 10 years ago I leveled up my education on strategy and innovation, and spent a few years with one of the big consulting firms. I then founded the Strategy & Innovation Institute to coach small-mid sized business owners on creating and executing strategy to achieve their vision. I have also been teaching entrepreneurship at Sac State, and facilitating executive peer groups to help leaders process critical issues so they can grow their companies. EOS has enabled me to bring all these disciplines together in a simple process to help owners build a better business.
